Speed If you cannot do it slow… One day I was invited by a couple friends to go to the driving range, where golfers practice their long shots. My friends, on each side of me, were regularly hitting their golf balls the length of half a football field or more. Being unpracticed at golf, I tried to compensate by swinging the club with more force. This caused me to miss more, and the ones I hit didn’t go far. Then my friend Billy looks over at me. “If you can’t do it slow, what makes you think you can do it fast?” It was a genuine question. He walked over to my platform and casually hit a ball that landed as far as my best shot. Sometimes we have to slow down to go faster, because “If you can’t do it slow, what makes you think you can do it fast?” Slow is smooth, and smooth is fast.
